Description

Our film series for adults is back on Monday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the Marshalltown Public Library’s community meeting rooms.
Our movie license forbids the use of film titles in publicity; therefore, we invite you to play the movie guessing game!
This film is a 1992 American drama film directed by Robert Redford and starring Craig Sheffer, Brad Pitt, Tom Skerritt, Brenda Blethyn, and Emily Lloyd. It is based on the 1976 semi-autobiographical novella of the same name by Norman Maclean, adapted for the screen by Richard Friedenberg. Set in and around Missoula, Montana, the story follows two sons of a Presbyterian minister, one studious and the other rebellious, as they grow up and come of age in the Rocky Mountain region during a span of time from roughly World War I to the early days of the Great Depression, including part of the Prohibition era.
Join our film critic, Tom LaVille, for a great discussion after the movie, as well as free popcorn and lemonade. This event is free and open to the public, aged 18 and over. For more information, or for the title of the film, please call the library's Information Desk at 641-754-5738 ext. 4.
This event is sponsored by Friends of the Marshalltown Public Library.
