She still considers herself conservative and staunchly defends "the inerrancy of the Bible in the original languages." After attending seminary and learning about the challenges of translation\, Kaiser began to notice inconsistencies within various English versions and realized translators make choices based on ideology\, especially in the case of gender. She began to study the history of the translations of those passages.\nIn the last year\, two large denominations (Southern Baptist Convention and Presbyterian Church of America) have taken steps to further restrict women from not only the title of "pastor" but from "pastoral function." Kaiser believes the time is right to help lay people understand the history and reasons for so much misunderstanding on this topic.
