Job Title: Parks Supervisor

Employer: City of Marshalltown

Brief Job Description/Summary:

Plans, organizes, and assist in the maintenance and repair of the City’s parks, grounds, buildings, equipment, horticultural areas, trails, flood control system, and other assigned areas; does related work as required.

Acceptable Experience and Training

Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a Bachelor’s Degree in horticulture, leisure studies or a closely related field;

Landscaping experience preferred;

Two years of considerable experience, including some supervisory experience; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Required Special Qualifications

Possession of a Pesticide Applicator’s License issued by the State of Iowa in categories of Ornamental and Turf grass, and Roadside Pest Management within six months of hire;

Possession of a valid State of Iowa Class A Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement within 90 days of hire date.
