Few animals are subject to as much bad press as bats! Come learn from Poweshiek County Naturalist Amy Andrews Durbin to separate myth from facts about some of Iowa’s tiniest mammals. We’ll discuss which bats are found in Iowa (spoiler alert: no vampire bats!), their contribution to our ecosystems, and their incredible adaptations. And yes, we’ll touch on why people find them to be so scary.
