Highway 30 Corridor Job Fairs To Expand Across Central Iowa

Employers and resources at the Marshalltown event include Childcare Resource & Referral, Barilla, Proteus, Unity Point, Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown Municipal Transit, Childserve Ames, Mullenbach Construction, Manpower, Burke, Walmart, American Indian Council, and Birkwood Village.

 Regional Series to take place in four communities and act as a connection point between job seekers, employers, and resources that help create new careers. DES MOINES, IOWA IowaWORKS today announced the return and expansion of the Highway 30 Corridor Job Fairs, a regional series of career-related events designed to connect job seekers, employers, and workforce resources together across central Iowa. Originally launched as job fairs in Story and Marshall counties in 2018, will expand to see events in four communities along the Highway 30 corridor: Tama, Marshalltown, Ames, and Boone. All events open to the public. Each of the four job fairs will feature employers from a wide range of industries, providing opportunities for job seekers to connect with hiring managers and explore new career paths in high-demand occupations. IowaWORKS staff will also be on-site to serve as a partner to job seekers, offering resume assistance, interview coaching, and career planning support. Job Fair Schedule: Tama October 15 at Louise & Lucile Hink/Tama Public Library Marshalltown October 22 at Marshalltown Public Library Ames October 28 at Ames Public Library Boone November 13 at DMACC Boone Campus The expanded event series is being made possible through strong partnerships with local business organizations, including the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce, Ames Regional Economic Alliance, and the Boone County Chamber. together bringing these careers to life and helping fulfill the unique workforce needs of WORKS Operations Manager Frank Sposeto so that they can connect with local employers who need their skills and access valuable workforce services that can be the difference in their job The events are also being made possible through Business Engagement Division. Each local IowaWORKS office houses a Business Engagement Consultant (BECs), who helps employers navigate workforce programs, develop recruitment strategies, and connect with the untapped talent pool including those that will appear at the Highway 30 Corridor events.
