The Marshalltown Area United Way (MAUW) Jail and Bail virtual fundraiser event is back, with a special thank you to David Hicks and YSS for allowing MAUW to utilize the former MPD pink jail cells again. Held for the first time last year, this fundraiser was fun and competitive, especially between the Marshalltown Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, with the latter winning the most donations and a GOAT prize.
This year the fundraising event will be held daily on Facebook from Monday, October 28th through Thursday, October 31st and Monday, November 4th through Friday, November 8th. Each participant's goal is to raise a minimum of $100 in order to be released from "jail." Participants who raise the most will be recognized with a prize at the Year-End Celebration & Recognition event.
Donors can pay by check, cash, or credit card, through Venmo, on the website, or in person at the MAUW office. If paying with Venmo, donors should reference Jail & Bail and the name of the individual or organization they are supporting.
From strengthening local resilience to advancing health, youth opportunity, and financial security, during the campaign and throughout the year, MAUW is mobilizing our community to action so all can thrive.
