Coming to Marshalltown April 17, 18, 19, 24 and 25! "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress" by Alan Bell.
Join us for 5 Women Wearing the Same Dress, the sharp, funny, and surprisingly moving play from the mind of Alan Bell, the creator of American Beauty and Six Feet Under.
Five reluctant bridesmaids, part of an extravagant, ostentatious wedding attempt to hide out from the festivities in an upstairs bedroom. Each has her own reason to avoid the wedding party below, The five women couldn't be more different, yet as the afternoon wears on , they bond over secrets, regrets, and shared frustrations. The play explores friendship, identity, and the quiet power of saying "no" when something no longer fits--whether it's a dress, a relationship, or role they have been told to play.
Directed by Rick Gooding, 5 Women Wearing the Same Dress will be performed at the BA Niblock-MCSD Orpheum Black Box Theatre, 220 E. Main Street Marshalltown on April 17, 18, and 19 and April 24 and 25. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:00 p.m. The Sunday, April 19 show will be at 2:00 p.m.
