Description

The Marshalltown Public Library is happy to welcome Lori Vicker on Sunday, October 10, at 2 PM, to present her talk on the Paper Clip Project. The Paper Clip Project began 20 years ago when an 8th grade teacher from Whitwell, Tennessee wanted to teach her students about tolerance. They collected over six million paper clips to represent the six million Jews that perished during World War II. Lori Vicker’s talk will include an overview of events leading up to Hitler’s reign in Germany. She will share information about how the students were able to collect these paper clips and create a memorial in their town which is still drawing tourist to their community from all over the country. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit the library’s website at www.marshalltownlibrary.org or call the library’s Information Desk at 641-754-5738 ext. 4.
