Author and historian Scott Foens will review the tragic story of the 1910 Green Mountain Train Wreck which resulted in 52 fatalities. The collision between two trains occurred the morning of March 21 between the village of Green Mountain and Gladbrook. It is the deadliest accident in Iowa railroad history.
The event is free-of-charge and open to the public. Reservations not necessary, but seating is limited. Foens' book will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be served following the program.
