At the turn of the 20th Century, and well before the onset of the automobile, the "The Wohlert House" in State Center was a maternity hospital. Hundreds of births took place under the direction and care of its owner. Years later Catherine Noble of State Center purchased the property and extensively remodeled it into a single family home. It is now on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Noble will discuss the property's historical significance and efforts to earn NRHP designation. Her presentation is sponsored by the Historical Society of Marshall County (HSMC).
