Riverside Cemetery, a historic and ecological sanctuary in central Iowa, seeks a meticulous and trustworthy Office and Finance Administrator to lead our day-to-day accounting and administrative operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping skills, comfort with QuickBooks, and a commitment to organizational integrity.


Primary Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and chart of accounts
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable, memorial service invoices, and vendor payments
  • Generate monthly financial statements and assist with budget tracking, grant reporting, and audit preparation
  • Monitor cash flow and flag discrepancies or trends requiring leadership attention
  • Assist with payroll documentation, tax filings, and end-of-year closeout

Administrative Operations

  • Keep organized digital and paper systems for contracts, purchases, and service documentation
  • Prepare and file internal forms, correspondence, and cemetery records
  • Coordinate schedules, calendars, and daily office needs with efficiency and warmth
  • Coordinator all floral sales and ordering

Community & Team Coordination

  • Respond professionally to families, vendors, and partners regarding billing and operational inquiries
  • Work closely with the General Manager on financial forecasting, grant documentation, and interdepartmental support
  • Represent Riverside with a respectful, service-oriented demeanor in all interactions


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of nonprofit or small-business financial practices a plus
  • Ability to work independently and manage sensitive data with discretion
  • Strong communication skills and a thoughtful, grounded presence
  • Must be willing to work as demands on a rotational Saturday
